Minimizing Image Storage

With VMware, developers need to prepare a static image of every virtual application, and the image must include the entire application stack: operating system, middleware, and application code. The DataSynapse platform, however, does not require developers to store VMware images in order to deploy virtual applications to a virtual machine. The platform has the tools required to create re-usable templates and packages for the building blocks of a virtual application (OS, middleware, and application code) and assembles the application at run-time from the templatized components. This approach can reduce virtual image storage by up to 80%.


Just-in-Time Application Assembly

The DataSynapse platform assembles the virtual application from its native components at run-time, and only when requested. The platform monitors service levels of virtual applications, and when a new service is required, or more resources are required to meet demand, the platform issues an event to assemble the specific virtual application from its base components and deploys that virtual application into the VMware virtual machines, leveraging VMware infrastructure components.
