Nordea Utilizes DataSynapse GridServer in Derivatives Trading Environment
NEW YORK · December 4, 2006 · DataSynapse, a global provider of application virtualization software, today announced that Nordea, the Nordic region's largest bank and financial services company, has rolled out DataSynapse GridServer® software to support its growing derivatives business. Nordea is the first Nordic bank to use application virtualization technology to improve trading productivity and performance levels for its trading and risk systems. GridServer is application virtualization software that enables application services to be distributed and executed across shared, heterogeneous infrastructure. By creating a virtualized environment that matches user demand with supply of available system and data resources, GridServer provides an "on-demand" environment that dramatically improves application performance, resiliency and uptime.
Nordea has moved both its end-of-day and intraday derivative risk calculations to GridServer, reducing processing time with the most complex trade pricing calculations. This allows the bank to maximize its trading performance.
