DataSynapse Announces Support for Amazon Web Services and Beta Program to Advance Enterprise Adoption of Cloud ComputingNEW YORK, NY – February 11, 2009 – DataSynapse, a leading provider of dynamic application service management (DASM) software, announced today support for the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2), the market leading cloud computing platform. Also, DataSynapse is announcing a beta program for DataSynapse Federator 1.5, new software that enables DataSynapse customers to seamlessly bridge traditional datacenters resources and the Amazon EC2 cloud.
These new capabilities will enable DataSynapse’s enterprise customers to reduce CapEx spending on hardware infrastructure and operating costs by enabling enterprise grids to extend into the Amazon EC2 cloud. DataSynapse based applications are currently deployed on nearly one million CPUs in Fortune 1000 data centers.
The Federator 1.5 beta program will begin in April, and will be open to a limited number of organizations. Beta program participants will be able to run an unlimited number of DataSynapse engines on the EC2 cloud free of charge, and DataSynapse engines running on Amazon EC2 will not count against existing license caps. Customers will have to pay Amazon infrastructure charges.

"DataSynapse’s use of Amazon Web Services is a perfect example of the sort of business AWS is enabling for enterprise use cases," said Steve Rabuchin, Director of Developer Relations and Business Development for Amazon Web Services. "DataSynapse is taking advantage of AWS’ ability to provide the undifferentiated heavy-lifting, which allows their customers to focus on their ideas instead of their infrastructure."
“This offering will accelerate the adoption of cloud computing platforms for business critical applications for enterprise customers” said Jamie Bernardin, DataSynapse Co-Founder and President. “DataSynapse has technology that seamlessly blends corporate datacenters and external cloud platforms”.
About Amazon EC2
Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) is a web service that provides resizable compute capacity in the cloud. It is designed to make web-scale computing easier for developers.
Amazon EC2’s simple web service interface enterprises to obtain and configure capacity with minimal friction. It provides complete control of computing resources and lets your enterprise applications run on Amazon’s proven computing environment. Amazon EC2 reduces the time required to obtain and boot new server instances to minutes, allowing enterprises to quickly scale capacity, both up and down, as computing requirements change. Amazon EC2 changes the economics of computing by allowing companies to pay only for capacity that they actually use. Amazon EC2 provides developers the tools to build failure resilient applications and isolate themselves from common failure scenarios.
