Their combination of customer focus, technology vision, and thought leadership has helped shape the concept of dynamic application service management and the markets DataSynapse services.Peter Lee | Chief Executive Officer and Founder Prior to founding DataSynapse, Peter served as an investment banker at J.P. Morgan & Co. Peter has worked on a wide range of capital markets and investment banking transactions based in New York, Tokyo, and Hong Kong. Jamie Bernardin | President and Founder Jamie oversees the product, marketing, customer support, and technology functions at DataSynapse. Prior to founding DataSynapse, Jamie built a number of widely distributed and scalable systems at Barclays Global Investors, Risk Management Technologies, and Bank of America. Jamie originally entered the finance space as a quantitative analyst building models and algorithms for use in derivatives trading systems, credit and market risk reporting systems, and asset-liability applications. In 2006 Jamie was recognized as one of American Ventures 40 under 40 in technology and in 2007 Jamie received the top 25 CTO award by CIO magazine. Before joining Bank of America, Jamie worked as a NASA Research Fellow conducting laser physics and numerical modeling research. Jamie attended Brown University where he earned a PhD in Engineering Physics, an MS degree in Electrical Engineering, and separate BS degrees in Engineering Physics and Applied Mathematics. Roger Blanchette | Chief Financial Officer Roger is responsible for leading DataSynapse's Finance and HR functions. He brings over 15 years experience, during which he gained in depth experience in many finance and business related areas, including mergers & acquisitions and strategic financial planning. He also has a strong record of building and managing highly effective and efficient finance and business operations.
Roger joins DataSynapse from Concord Communications, a software company, where he was Vice-President of Finance. At Concord, he supported the M&A activity which resulted in three successful acquisitions, helped raise an $86M convertible bond debenture, successfully managed the Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliance effort. He supported the sales process of the company to Computer Associates, which resulted in a purchase price at 70% premium in 2005.
Prior to Concord, Roger held senior finance positions at numerous high technology firms, including Scitex America, a manufacturer of hardware, software and equipment for the printing industry; Information Access Center, an IT outsourcing firm part of the Thomson Company. Roger started his finance career at a major Canadian bank, based in Montreal, Canada. Roger holds a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from the Universite de Sherbrooke, Canada and a MBA from the John Molson School of Business, Concordia University, Canada. Mark Milford | Executive Vice President - Global Field Operations As EVP of Global Field Operations, Mark is instrumental in building and developing DataSynapse’s worldwide field operations, capitalizing upon strategic partnerships and expanding strategic partner channels.
Prior to joining DataSynapse, Mark had more than 30 years experience leading sales teams in selling enterprise software and hardware solutions, and is well known for structuring, leading and growing multi-tiered field organizations. His experience includes serving as senior vice president of worldwide sales and customer support at BakBone Software, vice president worldwide enterprise administration sales at Symantec, as well as other leadership positions at PowerQuest, Computer Associates and Hewlett Packard.
Mark is a member of the U.S. Postal Service Marketing Advisory board, the Industrial and Professional Advisory Council for the College of Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University, the Executive Programs Advisory board for the University of Maryland, and the Board of Directors of the Washington Theatre Awards Society. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Pennsylvania State University. Joe Schwartz | Chief Marketing Officer Joe directs all aspects of the company's global corporate, product, partner, and field marketing operations. Joe joined DataSynapse with nearly 20 years of experience in product and marketing execution, with a deep understanding of the infrastructure software industry. He has created, managed, and marketed products in the middleware space many times over.
Prior to joining DataSynapse, Joe was vice president of products and marketing for expressor Software Corp., an early-stage integration software company. Prior to expressor, Joe served as vice president of products and marketing for data integration market leader Informatica Corporation. Joe joined Informatica as part of the company’s acquisition of Itemfield, named a “Cool Vendor in Data Management” by Gartner in 2006.”
Prior to Itemfield, Joe headed product management at IONA Technologies, where he drove the company’s entry into the SOA space, including the successful launch of one of the first Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) products. Prior to IONA, Joe was at Scient Corporation, where he provided business development and technical leadership on strategic services engagements with Fortune 500 clients. Prior to Scient, Joe ran products and marketing at middleware pioneer Level 8 Systems, where he launched category defining products that ultimately helped shape what are today muliti-billion dollar enterprise infrastructure software markets. Joe began his IT career as an enterprise architect and project lead in the commercial banking sector. Kevin Dell | Executive Vice President, General Counsel Kevin is responsible for all legal matters for DataSynapse. He brings over 20 years of broad legal experience, particularly in mergers and acquisitions and commercial transactions.
Kevin joins DataSynapse after serving for nine years as General Counsel of The BISYS Group, Inc., a leading outsourcing services provider to financial institutions, and helping BISYS grow its revenue from $250 million to over $1 billion through organic growth and nearly 40 acquisitions. He also served as General Counsel of Concurrent Computer Corporation, a manufacturer and provider of proprietary computer systems.
He gained experience in corporation transaction as a corporate associate at a leading New York City law firm following his graduation from the University of Pennsylvania’s joint JD/MBA degree program where he received a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and an MBA from the Wharton Graduate School of Business. He also earned a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Finance from the University of Virginia. Tom Baehr | Senior Vice President - North America Tom brings over twenty-five years of sales and executive management experience in the information technology industry to the DataSynapse management team. Prior to joining DataSynapse, Tom led North American Sales and Services for enterprise software firms NeuVis Software and New Era of Networks, Inc.
Previously, Tom led InfoTech, a Premier IBM Business Partner and systems integrator, as President and Chief Operating Officer. While at InfoTech, he managed the company through rapid growth from a $20 million regional company to $100 million as IBM's largest distributed systems reseller in North America, and a successful IPO.
Additionally, Tom has extensive sales and sales management experience with strategic account operations at Prime Computer and Honeywell Information Systems. Tom holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing from Fairfield University. Christopher Nathan | Senior Vice President & Managing Director, EMEA and APAC As SVP and Managing Director, Christopher Nathan is responsible for managing operations across Europe and Asia for DataSynapse, which have expanded significantly over the last six years. Prior to his current position, Christopher was Director of Sales for DataSynapse, where he was instrumental in growing the client base with successful engagements at HSBC, Barclays and Royal Bank of Scotland, among others.
Prior to joining DataSynapse, Christopher was General Manager EMEA for Pinnacor, which was acquired by Dow Jones. Christopher brings over twenty years of sales and senior management experience in the software industry with postings in Europe, North America and Asia.
Previously, Christopher was Managing Director of BankStat, a risk management platform developed by Bankers Trust, where he was responsible for global operations including sales, services, support, marketing and product development. Christopher also spent over five years in sales and management positions while at Thomson Financial. Fred Gedling | SVP Global Sales Enablement and EMEA CTO Fred holds the joint roles of Chief Technology Officer for EMEA and senior vice president of global sales enablement. Based in London and working closely with organizations seeking to optimize their IT infrastructures, Fred offers unique insights into the technology of dynamic application service management as well as the methodology of establishing ROI and rapid deployment to the immediate advantage of the business.
Fred has more than fifteen years experience of enterprise middleware and high-performance infrastructures. Prior to DataSynapse he worked in high performance CRM middleware and was the CTO EMEA for New Era of Networks (NEON) during the rapid growth of Enterprise Application Integration. His 25-year career in technology also includes management positions at Goldman Sachs and Stratus Computer.
Fred holds a First Class Bsc (Hons) degree in Physics with Astrophysics from the University of Leeds. Willy Ross | Senior Vice President - EMEA Willy, most recently comes from platform leader Integral Development Corporation the leading provider of multi asset class, multi liquidity provider portal for the capital markets where he served as Sales Director, EMEA. Prior to Integral Willy started and ran European operations for Misys plc, Summit Systems International, Midas-Kapiti, ACT Financial Systems, Quotient, Honeywell and Tymshare (UK).
Willy has his ALA from Robert Gordon's Institute of Technology, Aberdeen and undergraduate from Alan Glen's School, Glasgow. John Skovron | Senior Vice President - Engineering John brings over twenty years experience in software development and fifteen years management experience to his role as Senior Vice President, Engineering. As a technical leader at DataSynapse, he has directed key implementations in the company's GridServer® product development and technical processes. John is responsible for technical product management, technical support, and internal IT.
Prior to joining DataSynapse, he ran the global market data project at ILX Systems (Thompson Financial), extending ILX Systems's market data coverage to include exchanges and data providers in EMEA and Asia. John was instrumental in securing the first contract in this new market segment.
His earlier work experience includes market data development at EF Hutton, data communications programming at Systems Strategies, and consulting in the educational and game programming areas. John has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Columbia College of Columbia University. Rick Moran | Senior Vice President - Corporate Development As Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at DataSynapse, Rick Moran and his team are responsible for managing strategic business and technology partnership initiatives worldwide.
Prior to his current position, Rick was Vice President of Sales for DataSynapse successfully launching several client engagements including: Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB), Genworth Financial and Nationwide among others.
Rick joined DataSynapse from Redpoint Software, a leading enterprise risk management software company where he was founder and CEO. Previous to Redpoint, he served as Vice President and Head of Operations including finance, marketing and sales for Isis Distributed Systems. At Isis, Rick negotiated the sale of the company to Stratus Computer in 1993 and led the Isis subsidiary to 400 percent growth in the first year. Additionally, Rick ran his own consulting company for many years specializing in networked storage solutions. |
