The Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) service allows users to add and remove compute resources on-demand, with the benefit of only paying for the "in cloud" hardware "infrastructure" capacity needed, when it is needed. With the launch of this beta program, DataSynapse makes it easy for customers to extend their current DataSynapse environment into the Amazon EC2 cloud, free from DataSynapse for all of 2009.

Federator is the recently announced DataSynapse management software that enables seamless use of engines running in the Amazon EC2 cloud. Enrollment in the DataSynapse Federator™ 1.5 beta program is closed as of March 4, 2009.
